Slight breeze, and the piece of junk fell apart. We had the umbrella in the closed, and down position, with the weights the seller suggested to use online. The breeze kicked up and bent the cross bars. The umbrella flipped up, inverted, and shattered the mechanism at the top which opens and closes the canvas. Had we left the umbrella open, I could understand it would be our fault, but even when closed, and using weights the thing still broke. We had it for less than a week. Great price and fairly good quality I was shocked to see an umbrella like this for this price. It is very nice and does the job. I didn’t really want or need a heavy more expensive umbrella; where I live, there can be gusty winds that break every umbrella no matter how much it costs or the quality. This is my first stand-alone aka offset umbrella. I bought it for over my new hot tub. I was thinking for summer, but it blocks the rain and my neighbors bright patio lights too! 🙂 It also tilts with the wind which helps it release…
