It does offer UV Protection I was skeptical so I tested the UV index with a meter. Today, here, the UV Index is 10. (My meter gave me 9.5). Under the umbrella, I got 0.0 most of the time. Occasionally 0.5. So this umbrella does what it says it will do. It is fairly windy here and there are no problems with it (though I did add additional weights to the 26 lb umbrella holder). I bought a cover and it covers the umbrella completely but it is cumbersome to put on. A zipper would help.Update. I dropped two stars…
Beautiful to look at, but check your cord… The color on this is very vivid and true to picture/description. We have had it outside for 3 weeks in the rain and intense Hawaii sun (not expanded though) and seems to be pretty water resistant and color fast so far. This needs to be on a very level surface! I have doubts about it’s long term use as I haven’t even taken the tags off, and on only the 5th opening discovered the cord is shredded. Not sure how I’m going to repair that or make it last,…
