Solid construction The umbrella is nice, however, my purpose in purchasing was to provide shade to an area in my patio by staking it directly into the ground which worked just fine. I did not purchase the base after reading comments by those who had and were dissatisfied. I knew when I ordered the umbrella my idea may not work because that darn sun keeps moving throughout the day (imagine that?). So, to keep the area shaded required changing the direction of the umbrella more often than I wanted. Oh well,…
