We found the best way to anchor them down is to use re … Finally a way to cover part of our deck. We have been looking for these shades for several years. We found the best way to anchor them down is to use re bar and put it inside PVC pipe. It works great this way the re bar does not rip the material. So far it has stayed in placed through a couple of afternoon storms. The shade is great and the material did keep most of the rain water out. Good Fit but color Fades quickly This fabric is much too light weight to stay in place ! Even with heavy rods in the ends it blew over to downwind side of pergola & would not lay flat on top of pergola ! Maybe with a seam down the middle it would be more manageable , but as designed , it is definitely for an area that never gets wind …. even a breeze !
